COUN 5043 - Psychopathology: Diagnosis & Treatment of Mental Disorders A study of psychopathology to aid the student in understanding problems of definition and classification of personality and behavioral disorders described in the DSM; development of skill in making diagnoses; a working knowledge of the diagnostic categories in the DSM; and an understanding of the varying philosophies relative to assessment, diagnosis, and treatment. Additional topics include common psychopharmacological medications, equity and diversity issues, and examining psychopathology from a Christian worldview. Level 2 Course. Students must make a B or better. Class 3. Prerequisite(s): COUN 5443 , COUN 5023 , COUN 5033 , COUN 5053 , COUN 5073 , COUN 5083 , COUN 5223 , COUN 5333 , and COUN 5343 .
