COUN 5083 - Counseling Theories for Professional Counselors Examination of the philosophy, theoretical and practical foundations of individual and family counseling theories. The major theorists, theories, various models and practices of individual, couple, and family counseling are examined. The primary focus is upon the theories, principles, and language that support the numerous professional counseling models. Students will demonstrate counseling skills and techniques through simulation of a real counseling session. The student will learn to integrate the Christian worldview as it impacts the counselor and counseling relationships. Level 1 Course. Students must make a B or better. Class 3. Prerequisite(s): COUN 5023 , COUN 5033 , and COUN 5443 .
