COUN 5133 - Clinical Appraisal and Diagnostic Evaluation in Counseling

This course exposes students to testing and measurement in the counseling profession. Topics addressed include historical perspectives of testing, conducting a clinical interview, the use of assessment and testing for diagnostic and treatment planning, the use of tests relevant to education, career, personality, behavior, and social development, and the integration of the Christian worldview. Students will examine the cultural and ethical relevance of administering, scoring, and interpreting assessment and test results. Students will conduct a clinical interview using the biopsychosocial and spiritual assessment, administer and interpret test results, and report the results. Level 2 Course.
