MJEG 3223 - Welding Metallurgy I

Introduction to welding metallurgy principles for development of sound welding procedures for fusion welding of ferrous and non-ferrous engineering alloys. Specific alloys discussed include carbon, low alloy, HSLA, stainless steels, aluminum, nickel-based, and titanium alloys. Laboratory includes weldability testing, metallographic sample preparation and evaluation techniques. Class 2. Lab 3. Prerequisite(s): ENGR 2313, MJET 2021, MJET 2023, and MJEG 3201.
