The Bachelor of Science in Psychology described below is offered in the nontraditional format, primarily via online delivery. The B.S. in Psychology is also offered on-ground in the traditional format with a few varying general education requirements. Students seeking the B.S. in Psychology may take courses on-ground and/or online, but must declare the primary delivery format for the major: traditional or nontraditional.
The B.S. in Psychology provides students with a broad knowledge in the field of psychology, preparing them for application to graduate school and/or employment in a wide range of settings (e.g., social work, management/personnel, Christian education, ministry, etc.). Students interested in pursuing graduate studies may consider one of LETU’s graduate programs in psychology and counseling. The University offers the following graduate degrees in the area of psychology:
- Master of Science in General Psychology (online only)
- Master of Arts in Clinical and Mental Health Counseling (online only with one residential course)
The M.A. in Clinical and Mental Health Counseling provides students with the academic requirements necessary for *state licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). Students are strongly encouraged to talk with their academic advisor and Program Director about career options in the field of psychology.
*Eligibility for state licensure is specific to Texas. Students in other states should research licensure requirements and should be aware that completion of a LETU graduate degree may not meet requirements for states other than Texas.
