MATH 3903 - History of Mathematics A study of the history of mathematics from ancient Babylonian times to the early Twentieth Century. The contribution of individual mathematicians will be included. The development of several areas in mathematics will be studied, such as number theory, algebra, geometry, and calculus. To deepen their understanding of the subject’s development, students will be expected to solve math problems in a manner authentic to the era under consideration. Class 3. Prerequisite(s): MATH 1903 or MATH 1604 , ENGL 1023
