CVGR 3313 - Structural Analysis Provides students with a clear and thorough presentation of the theory and application of structural analysis as it applies to trusses, beams and frames. Classical methods of structural analysis are introduced to develop a deeper understanding of how basic principles of statics and mechanics of materials are used in analysis. The course moves from the classical methods to the matrix methods of structural analysis used in modern computer analysis software. The course includes an initial coverage of finite element techniques for structural analysis and students will utilize FEA software, using classical methods of analysis as a means of checking computer generated outputs. Class 3. Prerequisite(s): MATH 2303 and MEGR 3323 .
