PSYC 5182 - Child Trauma Intervention Provides an overview of clinical assessment and treatment of children who have experienced traumatic stress. The process of clinical evaluation of this population will be discussed, with review of most commonly used evaluation tools. Reviews evidence-based and promising practices for treatment of child trauma, as well as the range of alternative interventions (i.e., expressive, body-based, sensory) which show promise for this population. Students will examine interventions and treatments in the context of a Christian worldview. Class 2. Prerequisite(s): COUN 5023 , COUN 5043 , and COUN 5663 .
