A general survey of the western heritage, focusing on political, social, and intellectual developments beginning with the civilizations of Mesopotamia continuing through the Greeks, Romans, Middle Ages in Europe, Reformation, etc. The course concludes around the turn of the 18th century and Europe’s Scientific Revolution.
