Master of Arts in Psychology (MPSY):Global

The Master of Arts in Psychology is a non-licensure program for counseling ministries, designed for those students desiring a basic counseling skill set yet not interested in pursuing professional counseling or marriage and family therapy licensure. The program includes a core of graduate psychology and counseling courses, as well as graduate-level electives available through psychology or other graduate programs.

Total Credit Hours: 39

Students may choose from the above psychology elective options for completion of the M.A. in Psychology. Other graduate psychology courses (clinical) are not allowed for students in the non-licensure program. Students interested in professional licensure should seek admission into the M.A. in Clinical Mental Health degree program. Students may also choose electives from graduate course offerings in other disciplines. Students are encouraged to speak with their academic advisor regarding the best courses to take for electives based on career goals and future expectations.

1 - Students must earn a “B” or higher.

*PSYC5003 may be completed as an elective course for this program. Students who enter any graduate program in psychology must have completed 12 hours of undergraduate or graduate coursework in psychology, or 9 hours of psychology plus 3 hours of statistics. Students who have not met the admission requirements may take PSYC5003 as a leveling course to meet the admission requirement and may count the course as an elective toward degree completion.
